How long to use ointment after blepharoplasty?

Applying step by step

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to avoid introducing bacteria to the wound.
  2. Squeeze a small amount of the ointment (approximately ½ inch) onto a clean fingertip or a sterile cotton swab.
  3. Gently dab or spread the ointment directly onto the incision sites on your eyelids. Ensure even coverage without pressing too hard.
  4. Do not touch the tip of the ointment tube to your skin or the wound to keep it sterile.
  5. Repeat as directed by your surgeon, usually 2–3 times a day.

What is antibiotic ointment?

Antibiotic ointment is a topical medication that contains antibiotics to prevent and treat infections. It is commonly applied to minor wounds, cuts, and surgical sites to keep the area clean and reduce the risk of bacterial infections. These ointments are available over-the-counter or by prescription and are an essential part of post-surgical care.

Prevents, protects & moisturises

The ointment contains antibiotics that help prevent bacterial infections at the surgical site. It forms a protective barrier over the incision, shielding it from external contaminants. The ointment also helps to minimise scarring by keeping the wound moist.
