Why can you not lie down after Botox?

Immediately after Botox, you should avoid certain movements, such as lying down or training hard. Botox works by weakening specific muscles, but pressure or excessive activity can cause the toxin to migrate to unwanted areas. This risks affecting the result and can cause discomfort or unexpected side effects. Make sure you give the treatment a little time to settle before you put the area under pressure by lying down after Botox.

Potential complications if this is not followed

Although scientific studies have not conclusively shown the risks, clinical experience suggests that the likelihood of Botox spreading incorrectly increases if you lie down too soon after the treatment. The side effects of this can be local swelling or bruising, and in rare cases more significant complications such as ptosis (a drooping eyelid) or dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).
