How long does tightness last after eyelid surgery?
The cause
The feeling of tightness is mainly caused by swelling and by the healing of the operated area. As the tissues heal they contract and adapt, which can create a tight feeling around the eyes. The feeling of tightness will gradually ease.
Feelings of discomfort
The tight feeling can sometimes come with a sense of discomfort, itching or a feeling of the skin being pulled. In the vast majority of cases this is only temporary and usually eases as healing progresses.
