Plastikakademin was founded by Associate Professor Johan Thorfinn, a provider and docent in plastic surgery at Linköping University, alongside Dr. Avni Abdiu Avaldsnes, who has worked in the facial surgery specialty for nearly three decades and brings reconstructive depth that is rare in a private practice. Together, they form one of the most credentialed two-surgeon benches in Swedish private aesthetics, with Amal Makansi leading the dermatology track and specialists in vascular and maxillofacial surgery also on the team.

The practice's approach is grounded in research and clinical rigor, and that shows in how candidacy is handled. If surgery is not the right decision, the team will say so.
